Again we didn't have service last night. Yesterday we had planned to go see the Natural Bridge. The weather said showers so we went to Lexington instead. Today is going to be cold but nice.
We missed the Coffee Pot when we were in Winston Salem but on the way to Lexington we took a side trip to see the Coffee Pot House. Of course we did!
When we got into town we went to the VMI Museum. My reason is pictured below, Little Sorrel, "Stonewall" Jackson's Civil War horse. The museum was more interesting than I thought it would be.

His jacket, with the bullet hole in the sleeve. I hadn't ever known his name was Thomas.

At the Ring Dance (when they received their class rings) their dates have to wear long white dresses.

I never got to see David, but I got to see this guy, whomever he is.

Walking around town, I saw this. My kind of thing!

Back to VMI. The cadets had to keep their books on the shelf in order by the size of the books.

From VMI to Jackson's house down town. I didn't get a picture of the outside but I should have. There are ten feet of steps up to the front door. The road in front was lowered ten feet!

The kitchen which has the new appliance, a stove!

Dick, checking out the chamber pot.

He took a cold bath every morning. As you can guess, from his tub, it was a sponge bath.

 |
I have never seen a window shade with painting on it.

We went to see the Lee Chapel. We didn't see what I was looking for, but it may be gone. I did see this list of the church's name. It no longer is called the R. E. Lee Memorial Church, renamed in 2017, so maybe they took the chapel away.
