We are finally at a KOA that seems to have good service, yeah!  TV isn't very good, but we can watch the news. On our way to here we were able to stop in Staunton.  It is often hard in the RV to find a place to park in a city but we did and it was close to where we wanted to be.  Our first stop was the Camera Heritage Museum.  If you have any interest in cameras you would like this place.

Picture of Leni Riefenstahl next to her camera.

On the way to see the Blackfriars Playhouse we pasted an old theater with this in the front.

Unfortunately the Playhouse was closed for the day.  It was built like one of Shakespeare's theaters, not obviously the Globe.  We may go back, if we have time.

Not sure if there is any significance for this.

Our next stop was the Frontier Culture Museum.  There are areas that show the different cultures that came to America.  The first showed a village from Africa.

Me being me, I had to take a picture of the African fire hydrant.

Basket weaving demo, the only demo we were able to see.

They used to have more houses, but the weather in Virginia isn't conducive to them lasting.

The inside of the house.

On to England and this yeoman's house.  All the houses were brought here from their original country.

They cut a hole in the wall so that you could see how it was built.

On to the Irish area.
An Irish forge.

The farmhouse was beautiful on the outside, but had very few windows.

We are guessing that they had pigeons.

The thatch on the barn.  It had sod underneath it.

Next was Germany and a tailor's house.  It had more windows, but I wouldn't say enough for these days.

Wooden shoes lined up.

The tailor's area.  I wouldn't like to make button holes by hand!

Dick at the well.

The next area was what they called the American area and the first was a 1740 house and garden.

The 1740 tractor!

Dick and a pig.

One of the next houses

The next and last house.
The fire was going in the other room.

This barn was full of what we call aardvarks.

Tinsmith's shop.

Next, totally out of order, we got to the Indian village.  We could have gone there before the 1740 house, but there were a bunch of kids there, and we decided to come back later.

Covered with bark, although we think it was fake bark.

I was going to get this posted last night, but I fell (again on my face, but not as badly) mostly on my elbow.  Went to bed very early!
