Yesterday was mostly a travel day.  We are now in North Carolina staying at an RV camp in Snow Camp.  We were invited to go to dinner with a high school friend and his wife.  On the way to dinner we did stop to take some pictures at Clyde's Critter Crossing.

We had a lovely dinner at Acme in Carrboro with a friend from high school and his wife.

Today we drove around north of Durham and Raleigh.  Our first stop was at Shangri-La Stone Village.  We almost missed it, but when we went back a ways and got off the main road we found it.  Not as impressive as the one we saw on our last trip but not bad.  Dick thinks that some people have too much time on their hands.

Then we were off to Historic Occaneechee Speedway.  It was the first NASCAR race track.  It was a beautiful day and we had a nice walk into, and then around, the track.

Across from the parking lot we saw a sign for Vietri and I wanted to check it out and see if they had anything I wanted.  Unfortunately they didn't open until 1:00 and it was only 12:30

Dick offered to stay in town and have lunch so that I could go back but I realized that if we did, I would want to buy something.  Off we went to Durham to see what they call The Can Opener.  A low bridge that many trucks run into.

You can tell that you are in tobacco country down here.

Our last sight seeing stop was to see a Mercury Cougar.  I think that MMU should try to get it!

After that we headed to a Walmart (hate to admit that) to get some supplies.  While we were there, our friend called us up and invited us (me) for a glass of wine.  They have a lovely house and we had a nice visit.  We even had a Facetime call with another high school friend.
